Primary Responsibilities
As a Pharmacy Assistant, your daily activities and key performance areas will include:
- Prescription Processing: Efficiently receive incoming written prescriptions and handle both written or verbal medication refill requests from patients.
- Data Management: Input complete patient histories and detailed prescription details into the dispensary computer system with absolute accuracy.
- Inventory Control: Perform all necessary tasks related to ordering, receiving, and returning medical stock, alongside managing expiry date tracking and inventory balance corrections.
- Pharmacist Liaison: Communicate vital allergy interactions, complex drug alerts, and specific insurance billing details directly to the managing Pharmacist.
- Operational Adherence: Maintain full compliance with established pharmaceutical merchandising programs, general storefront operational procedures, and official company policies.
Candidate Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Education & Experience: Successful completion of an accredited Pharmacy Assistant Program OR possession of at least 2 years of practical dispensary environment experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Prior hands-on experience utilizing Kroll pharmacy computer software is considered a major asset for this role.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal communication capabilities and top-tier customer service skills to interface cleanly with diverse patient populations.
